As always, a lot of people have done a lot of work a lot better than I could ever do.

To start with; how do you get your first roll. I don't intend to teach the first roll as others can do that better. Perhaps I can help in person, but that's off the scope for the webpage. My recommendation is to find professional rolling teachers locally. If they are hard to find then get the DVD:

"This is the Roll" by Cheri Perry and Turner Wilson of Kayakways.

You can find it as a Disc as well on their site:

Excellent instructions and animations on Eiichi Eto's page Storm On

Skin on Frame, Norwegian Wood paddles and more with Anders Thygesen at Kajakkspesialisten
Note that Anders sells Brooks Tuiliqs!

David Täng

David is a Rolling Lunatic! That is; he is a member of the Kayak club called "The Rolling Lunatics" or "Rolltokarna". David builds qajaqs and greenland paddles for himself and for some close friends. In 2022 he finished third in the Danish Greenland Rolling Championships (336p). In 2023 he won both the Danish (348p) and Swedish Greenland Rolling Championships (370p). Favourite quote: "A wet David is a happy David!" He lives on the west coast of Sweden, in Onsala south of Gothenburg. He is a dedicated Judo player (Nidan) as well as a Windfoil surfer. I'd love to hear from you. You can reach me on:
